Thanks to Frozen, my 3.5-year-old has been dying to ice skate. Of course, she had no idea how hard it was going to be. And I don’t think my husband was quite prepared for the challenge of taking her either! We went to the O’Brien Group Areana at Docklands on Tight Tuesday where tickets were all $11
I love living in Melbourne city because there are always so many family-friendly events and places to take the kids to! Case in point: There are always lots of good things to do in Docklands during winter! Fireworks In July and August, Docklands puts on a 10-minute firework display every Friday at 7.30pm. There is some entertainment
In the beginning of July, my husband took Miss A to The Big Freeze Festival at Cranbourne Racecourse with some friends. There were lots of different activities for the kids- snow pits, slides, all kinds of workshops, arts and crafts etc. It was an indoor event. There was also a reenactment of Frozen with Elsa
For the last decade and a half, Collingwood Children’s Farm has been celebrating the shortest day of the year (the winter solstice) with a huge bonfire in the evening. It is a fun little family event. Before the lighting of the bonfire there were other activities on- children’s storytime, lanterns, fire twirlers, drummers etc…as well as food and drinks
The silver lining in the midst of these cold winter days is… …being able to write and draw on foggy windows!
