Miss 21mo seems to be feeling a lot better today which is a relief. In the evening we went to Miss 4.5’s daycare/kindergarten’s annual Christmas party and she had a fantastic time playing and running around. It was so great to see her acting normal again.
Earlier in the day, we went to Kmart to do a little Christmas shopping and the kids enjoyed looking at the toys. Miss 4.5 is currently really into this toy called LOL Surprise Dolls which has been, like, the bestselling toy since it came out a year ago. The hype is absolutely nuts. The dolls come in “big sister” and “little sister” versions and a month out from Christmas, I can’t find the “big sister” version (which is more popular) ANYWHERE in the city. It’s cray cray. Luckily Miss 4.5 doesn’t actually expect it- it was just me hoping to get one for her. If you have little girls, be warned. Keep them away from YouTube and these darn toy review channels!

I have to admit I kind of entertain Miss 4.5’s interest in these collectables because I remember how much I used to enjoy collecting these kind of toys myself when I was young. My thing was mainly My Littlest Pet Shop and Polly Pocket. After I left home, I actually got my mum to put aside these toys for my future kids when she was clearing my room. Lo and behold, I had two girls and now it’s kind of cool playing with my toys that are more than two decades old with them. I hope my girls will look after their toys and can keep some for their future kids too.

My husband kept his old school Lego from his childhood which Miss 4.5 now owns. What were some of your favourite toys when you were young? Did you keep any for your kids?
