DAY 6: Christmas Art (30-Day Personal Blog Challenge)

Posted by

It was a relatively uneventful day for me being stuck at home with two sick kids. I managed to get Miss 4.5 to nap on the sofa after lunch and she slept for a decent period of time, so that helped a lot. It’s nearly midnight now and Miss 21mo is waking heaps from being sick so I’ll keep it short today.

Christmas tree

In the morning we did some Christmas art. I printed out a couple colouring pictures of a Christmas tree and Christmas stockings for the kids to colour in and stick sequins on. You can really get any picture in colouring form off the internet by adding the word “colouring” behind it in Google e.g. “Christmas tree colouring”. Miss 21mo did a mere scribble on her pictures before moving on, but Miss 4.5 really enjoyed going through the zillions of sequins (all from one $2 bag from Kmart) to stick on.

We later moved on to playing with play dough with the sequins and some dried pasta. We have dinosaur pasta and Miss 4.5 loves setting up “pasta world” for the little dinosaurs. Miss 21mo hasn’t showed much interest in play dough so far but today seemed to find me cutting some up into little pieces with a butter knife extremely amusing. She kept going “cut cut cut” and laughing. I’m not sure whether I should be proud of this new milestone or a bit worried.

It was pretty stinking hot today in Melbourne…well, it’s the middle of the night and it still is. We don’t have aircon in the bedrooms which can make naps/nights a little tough, especially with Miss 21mo’s eczema. We have ordered a couple portable air conditioning units online but they’re taking a while to arrive.

Honest to God I wish my day was more interesting but it really wasn’t.

The 30-Day Personal Blog Challenge is a challenge to myself to consistently blog about my daily life for 30 days.
